Musashi Tsuba Unsharpened Iaito Sword for Iaido Practice

The Iaito version of the Musashi Katana has been created with the same exceptional quality as its predecessor, but with an unedged Ha. Constructed of through-hardened high carbon steel, the blade features a Bo-Hi at the top to better balance the sword and provide audible feedback when swung. An aesthetic Hamon runs the length of the blade, ending at the Kissaki. This full-tang blade comes unsharpened, making it the best and safest way to practice the Japanese sword arts, with a feel identical to a live blade and more durable than aluminum alloy.

The Saya, or scabbard, is made of wood with a dull gloss black finish. A black cotton Sage-o has been tied around a bright copper Kurigata, and the Koi-guchi has been made into a hardened ring to safely secure the blade when sheathed. The Habaki, a solid one-piece brass construction over a copper Seppa, transitions to the Tsuba, a blackened steel alloy in the classic Musashi double-ring design.

The Tsuka, or handle, features a blackened steel Fuchi and Kashira, with a hardwood core wrapped in ray skin Same and black cotton Ito. Copper Menuki decorate each side of the Tsuka, and two Bamboo Mekugi secure the tang in place.

This practice sword, the ideal training tool for safely practicing the ancient art of Iaido, comes with a free black cloth sword bag. Its overall length is 39.5 inches, with a 27-inch unsharpened high carbon steel blade and an 11-inch Tsuka.
