Musashi - 1060 Carbon Steel - Differentially Hardened Katana
The 1060 carbon steel blade of this sword has been differentially hardened and the hamon has been authentically created using the traditional forging method, resulting in a well-balanced and incredibly sharp edge. The tsuba, featuring a wheel design, has been constructed from alloy, while the fuchigashira displays a wave theme. The ito is wrapped in alternating crossovers on top of genuine ray skin samegawa, and the tsuka is secured to the tang by two bamboo mekugi.
The saya, with a high-gloss black finish, is made of wood, and the sageo is crafted from black cotton. The overall length of the sword is 39.25 inches, with a nagasa length of 27.5 inches. The blade is composed of 1060 carbon steel and has a mono-steel lamination. The weight of the sword without the saya is 2.15 pounds, and the balance point is located 4.75 inches from the tsuba. The hardness of the yakiba is 55 degrees, and the ito and sageo are made of synthetic silk. The fuchi kashira is also constructed from alloy.
