The handle, or "tusk," is made from genuine ray skin and black Japanese cotton, with a dragon motif as an ornamental element. The "say," or scabbard, is crafted from black piano-lacquered wood and features black cotton wrapping.

The sword's full tang is signed and secured with a single "mekugi" or peg, ensuring its durability and functionality. The overall construction of this Tanto sword allows for complete disassembly and reassembly.
